Micron Confirms Boise Research Campus Site Selection Is Underway
Micron is conducting a confidential site-selection process for its proposed Boise research campus, according to BoiseDev’s October 27 reporting. Scott Gatzemeier, Micron’s vice president of front-end U.S. expansion, confirmed to the publication that the campus would be within Boise.
No parcel, building size or date for announcing the location was disclosed. The company has expressed a goal of beginning work in 2027; that remains a target rather than a firm construction schedule. The previously announced $10 billion research initiative should not be interpreted as a verified construction budget for a single campus.
For industrial owners and investors, the eventual location could help clarify where research-related suppliers and services may seek space. That is a potential market implication, not a confirmed requirement. Site-specific demand, infrastructure capacity and off-campus leasing needs remain to be established.
