SEL to Convert 103,000-SF Nampa Building for Electronics Manufacturing
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) has purchased a 103,000-square-foot building at 1406 N. Galleria Drive in Nampa for conversion into an electronic-device manufacturing facility. SEL makes equipment that protects, monitors and controls electrical power systems.
In its September 15 announcement, SEL described an investment of more than $150 million in the building and equipment and approximately 250 initial manufacturing jobs. The company expects the facility to be operational in 2027. These are announced investment, hiring and operating plans.
For Treasure Valley industrial owners, the project illustrates how existing buildings can accommodate advanced manufacturing through substantial improvements. WCG’s assessment: adaptable properties may offer opportunities for similar conversions, subject to each user’s power, infrastructure and operating requirements. SEL’s project does not establish additional unmet space requirements.
